General college news - These papers contain articles primarily pertaining to matters of college interest. Many report on athletics, proceedings of the various campus societies, alumni news, and newsworthy events at other colleges. They also feature editorials and fiction by undergraduates.

Political publications - This is a somewhat arbitrary category, but it contains all papers whose articles can be roughly categorized as political or social commentary. Some were written from a specific ideological slant but most reflect the editors' desire to stimulate general intellectual discussion at Williams.
