Williams awards 328 B.A.s at the college's first outdoor commencement exercises held on the lawn behind Chapin Hall.

Two graduates were awarded Honors in Math without the traditional thesis due to the fact that they studied for the actuarial exams. Twenty-two reserve commissions were awarded. 176 graduates were WWII veterans. Nine B.A.s were awarded in February of the same year. Honorary degrees were awarded to: Charles F. Boyton (1928), Samuel E. Morison, James R. Miller, Charles D. Makepeace, Edwin C. Kendall.
