Scope and content note
The Jack Watson Papers (1958-1993) is a series of files kept by Watson pertaining to his career at Williams. The contents range from correspondence, financial papers, photographs, and miscellaneous papers relating to the numerous theater productions with which Watson assisted. The files are arranged in two series: ADMINISTRATIVE FILES and PRODUCTION FILES.
The ADMINSTRATIVE FILES (1964-1993) include correspondence and memoranda detailing Watson's involvement with the Cap and Bells student theatre group. These files also contain financial statements as well as theater awards, meeting notes for the Williams College Drama Department, and assorted photographs.
The PRODUCTION FILES (1958-1974) detail all the performances with which Watson assisted. These files consist of programs, director's notes, lighting schedules, scripts and photographs. Many also include newspaper reviews of the works. These files were arranged chronologically when they were received, and this arrangement has been maintained. An alphabetical list of productions is included in an appendix.
