Scope and Content Note

The Isaac Henry Vrooman Papers, 1895-1944 comprise Vrooman's personal papers and papers accumulated while Vrooman served as Secretary of the Class of 1899. A small portion of the papers relate to Vrooman's years at Williams. The bulk of the collection consists of correspondence between Vrooman and his classmates, and material relating to reunion activities. Serving as Class Secretary, Vrooman was responsible for organizing the Class' reunions and maintaining communications with his classmates and the College's Society of Alumni. The papers are divided into two series: Personal Papers, 1895-1899, and Class Records, 1899-1944.

Series I. Personal Papers, 1895-1899 include correspondence to E.B. Parsons from Vrooman seeking admission to Williams, grades, examinations and notes. Collected materials include student literary and humorous publications, programs, pamphlets and souvenir materials.

Series II. Class Records, 1899-1944 include correspondence between Vrooman and classmates regarding reunion activities, and to the Society of Alumni a nd local merchants regarding arrangements and housing. Biographical material and obituaries for members of the Class, programs, and pamphlets for various reunions are included as well.
