Warren, Williams Class of 1885, who had been the Sentinels' second president and was a member of their Board of Trustees, was also a member of the Board of Trustees of Williams College at the time the organization decided to disband. This undoubtedly led to the Sentinels' decision to deed over to Williams what was left of their funds to establish a yearly prize for the best student essay on the Constitution of the United States of America . At the same time, some of the printed material that the Sentinels had accumulated over the years of their existence was handed over to the College to aid students in preparing their essays.
