Provenance: The Williams Queer Student Union Collection was transferred to the Archives in May 2011 by Gabriel Joffe, Williams Class of 2011.  Joffe had worked during the spring to organize and process the collection. This group of material had been accumulating over the years, added to by the students themselves, and had been stored in the QSU area.

In August 2013, Kyle Roberts (Class of 1995) donated another .5 linear feet of material from his time at Williams.

Copyright: Request for permission to publish material from the collection must be submitted in writing to the College Archivist.

Scope note: The Collection is divided into four series: Chronological Documents, Subject Files, Student Papers and Projects, and Photographs and Memorabilia. Chronological documents include a wide variety of material, including coverage of events such as National Coming Out Week, Bi-Visibility Week, Queer Pride Days, etc. Also included is some documentation of the Dively Committee, Queer Task Force, etc. Subject Files are a diverse array of material relating to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender issues both locally and nationally. Student Papers and Projects were produced by Williams students as course assignments or for personal documentary use. Photographs and Memorabilia have been removed from the Collection and are stored with the Photograph and Artifact collections respectively.
