Series List

Series III, Family Papers, 1745-1930, is divided by author and organized chronologically. The journal by Col. Mark Hopkins and the diary of Samuel Hopkins are both religious in nature. The correspondence of this series is largely personal, some of which is printed in the Early Letters of Mark Hopkins. Of special interest are Mark Hopkins' (1739-1776) Masonry diploma, Harry Hopkins' lettering exercise, penned at age ten, and Chloe Curtis' two emotional letters about pioneer life.
