Introduction

MSS#: MC 13

Processed by: Lynne Fonteneau, March 1990

Total Volume: 34 Boxes: 17 lin. ft.

Provenance: Cap and Bells Records are comprised of records which were randomly collected by members of the organization. The bulk of the collection was transferred to the Archives at an unknown date. Additional material received in 1989 was incorporated into the records at the time of processing. To facilitate access to the collection an artificial organization was imposed on the records when they were processed in 1990.

Conservation: Materials were rehoused in acid-free folders and flattened. Cellophane tape, staples, paperclips and other non- archival fasteners were removed whenever it was possible to do so without harm to the material. Photographs were removed from their acidic mats and frames whenever possible; badly curled photographs were placed in a humidification chamber until they could be flattened without damage. Oversize materials were unfolded as much as practical and housed in oversize acid-free folders and boxes.
