MSS. #: MC 28
Volume: 1 volume
Provenance: Volume 50 of the Richard Henry Winslow Dwight Collection was donated by Mr. Dwight to the President and Trustees of Williams College 6 Oct. 1919 "by and with the consent of my sons." Upon the death of Mr. Dwight, it was left to his widow, Mrs. Caroline M. Dwight, and their son, Henry William Dwight, Class of 1918, to complete the donation. By this time, Richard and Caroline's daughter, Frances (later Frances Dwight Buell), had accomplished the final arrangement and annotation of the collection "in strict accordance with her father's plan . . . greatly assisted by Mr. Fisher Howe of New York." Volume 50 was duly delivered 19 June 1920.
The remaining volumes of the Dwight Collection, concerning Berkshire County history, were donated to the Norman Rockwell Museum. Microfilm of these volumes, and an index to their contents, is also available through the College Archives.
