Archives Collections Available in Temporary Quarters 2008-2013
Due to renovation of our building and construction of a new library and technology center (the Stetson-Sawyer Building Project), the Archives warehoused approximately 90% of the college's historical collections beginning spring 2008. These collections will remain unavailable until we return to our new quarters, hopefully in 2013.
A small number of collections traveled with the Archives staff to
temporary quarters located in the Southworth Schoolhouse, 96 School
Street. These include most of our photographic collections, alumni and
faculty biographical files, the Strickland Kneass collection of rare
books pertaining to slavery and abolition, the records of the Board of
Trustees and faculty meetings, and some of our most important
manuscript collections. Collections are available for use in the
Chapin/Archives reading room.
If you would like more information about reference and research aid, please get in touch with the archives staff.
